Testing and Failure Analysis
Common Rail Testing
The future is common rail injection but did you know these systems have been in India since 2000’s? Not standing still, Dashmesh Diesel Services has been testing these injectors for over a decade. Now running the state of the art EPS205 Bosch test stand, we can test all makes of common rail injectors
Test Protocol
Leak Test
Checking for external leaks at the injector body and nozzle as well as internal leaks resulting in high return flow.
VL
Full load fuel delivery. This is considered a non-ballistic test as the nozzle needle has reached its full lift. Maximum fuel delivery is measured at full rail pressure.
EM
An emissions test point deemed crucial by the fuel system and engine manufacturers.
LL
Idle fuel delivery test. Excessive resistance within an injector will show up here at lower rail pressure and pulse width.
VE
Pilot injection. This test is performed with a very short pulse width to determine if the injector response time is adequate to consistently delivery fuel.
Resistance, Inductance and ISA
Both coil and piezo injectors are tested for correct resistance. Coil injectors receive a further inductance test to check coil integrity. Piezo injectors run an ISA test using the IQA code to determine if fuel delivery at a given voltage matches the code value.
Mechanical Injector Testing
From the first diesels to today’s small industrial engines, the mechanical injector has been around for a very long time. They come in many different types from all major fuel system manufacturers. More recent iterations have two springs, allowing for multiple opening pressures.

Failure Analysis
Down time and repair costs are things that cannot always be avoided but repeat failures are. At Dashmesh Diesel service testing injectors is more that a simple pass or fail. We delve into the cause of failure, to uncover any underlying issues.
